Saving Favorite Websites' List.
If you accidently formatted your hard-drive, You lose all the Data & your Internet Explorer Favorites. Suppose you bookmarked 200 Websites & arranged them spending a lot of time, patience & mind. But your Computer became unstable & you had to format the Hard-Drive. You lost all those Favourite Websites' List. What a painful situation?
How to find that favourite website of your interest?
How to get rid of this?
When you bookmark a website, it's stored in a folder called "Favorites". It's located in D:\ or C:\Documents and Settings\ShaZ\Favorites. ShaZ is the "Username". It depends on what name you gave at the time of installing Windows.
Double Click My Computer->Open the Drive holding your Current Windows OS->Open "Documents and Settings"->There will be 2 or 3 Folders, "Default User", "All Users" & "Current Username"(this depends on the name you typed in "User Accounts"). "Default User" folder may not be present. Open the Folder of your name. In my case it is ShaZ. There will be a folder "Favorites". It contains all the Bookmarked Wesites. Whenever you bookmark a website or websites, copy this Folder "Favorites" & save to another location on your hard drive. Preferably on a different partition.
Everytime you bookmark websites, Do this.
In case you format the hard drive & Re-Install Windows, copy the Saved folder back to it's original Location:-D:\ or C:\Documents and Settings\ShaZ\Favorites. Replace the current folder if it doesn't contain any bookmarked website. If it already contains Websites, then copy the content of the Saved folder & paste to original folder. Now all websites will be available.
That's it. When you open your Internet Explorer, Your Favorites will be visible again.
