How to upload / attach applications (.exe files) in gmail.
How many times we have tried to attach a .exe file in Gmail but couldn't!! Because of security issues, Gmail doesn't allow this. But what if you have to send your fiend a very useful application?? Read on.
There is a very simple trick in doing this :)
- Go to the folder that contains the concerned .exe file.
- Click Tools->Folder Options->View
- There is an option "Hide extensions for known file types".
- This is selected by default, deselect it.
- Now go to that file. And rename it.
- Change the .exe part with .mp3.
- Now attach it to gmail. Gmail will treat the executable file as an mp3 file and consequently allow you to attach it.
- After sending the file in mail, do just reverse. Rename the file replacing .mp3 with .exe.
